Position Summary
MGE Property Solutions is looking to hire Lawn Care Specialist to work throughout the entire green season (Spring, Summer, Fall) to support the Emerald South Economic Development Collaborative Landscaping and Fencing Services Project for 2026. This role is for a committed landscape professional that believes in our mission to clean up and beautify underserved communities on the Southside of Chicago.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain sites through mowing, weeding, picking up trash & debris, trimming, edging & pruning
- Work with other team members to assess the site and perform quality services in a timely manner
- Keeping Trucks, Trailers, and equipment in clean working order
- Embody our core principles Safety first, integrity and constant quality
- Applicants must be available and committed to work the entire Green season (Spring, Summer and Fall) Monday – Thursday 6 – 10 hour shifts, with OT if available
- Applicants must be available and committed to work the entire landscape season. This work is subject to call outs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- This job requires a minimum of one year of experience in lawn care industry
- Must have experience with lawn maintenance equipment
- Must have transportation to job sites or assigned branch location
- Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and the requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to wear necessary PPE.
- Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle if applicable
- Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
- Must be able to traverse various terrains.
- Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
- Must be able to communicate and handle confrontations professionally.
- Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc).
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- Valid class D driver’s license
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Experience in the lawncare industry required
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., snow, sleet, rain, heat, sun, cold.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Work demands physical energy, twisting, some lifting ability, and hand-to-eye coordination.
- Uses Machines, Tools, Equipment, and work aides used include, Ride on Mower, Blower, Weed Wacker, Herbicide, Fertilizer, and Hand Tools as required.
- Must have transportation to and from the show up location.
